For spherical mirror, $f=\frac{R}{2}$
here, $R=20cm,m=2.5$
$\therefore f=\frac{R}{2}=\frac{20}{2}=10cm$
Now, $\frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{v}+\frac{1}{u}$
and magnification $m=\frac{-v}{u}$ or $v=-mu$
$\therefore \frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{u}-\frac{1}{mu}$
$\Rightarrow u=f\left(1-\frac{1}{m}\right)$
$=10\left(1-\frac{1}{2.5}\right)=6cm$
