Brassica campestris is member of Brasicaceae family which is characterized by formation of a false septum that converts a one chambered ovary into two chambered (bilocular ovary). This false septum is visible outside in form of a rim of the seed and is known as replum. It has parietal axile placentation in which ovules are present at the junction of septum and ovary walls, it is not axile placentation in which multilocular ovary has placentae along the axis of each locule.
