Mass of block, m=0.5kg
Density, ρ=8×103kgm−3
Volume of block, V=ρm=8×1030.5 =6.25×10−5m3
When block is fully immersed in water, then upthrust force on the block F1=mg=V⋅ρw×g =6.25×10−5×103×10 =0.625N ∴ Tension in the string T=mg−F1 (upthrust force) =0.5×10−0.625=4.375N=835N
