Q. Wolframite ore is separated from tinstone ore by the process of

General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Elements

Solution:

Wolframite ore $\left[ FeWO _{4}\right]$ is present in tinstone as impurities and it has same mass per unit volume as that of tinstone. So it is separated by electromagnetic separator because wolframite is magnetic in nature; hence it gets attracted by magnet while tinstone doesn't.
