Progesterone secreted from corpus luteum prepares uterine endometrium for receiving blastocysts for implementation. Progesterone is also called pregnancy hormone and anti- FSH and anti- LH. It maintains pregnancy and prevents the formation of new follicles and ovulation during the gestation period.
