Solution:

The nerve fibres of the PNS are of two types :
  • Afferent fibres
  • efferent fibres
The afferent nerve fibres transmit impulses from tissues/organs to the CNS and the efferent fibres transmit regulatory impulses from the CNS to the concerned peripheral tissues/organs.
