For greater sensitivity of meter bridge the resistance $(R)$ taken in the resistance box should be such that the null point is nearly in the middle of the wire. In this position all resistance $P, Q, R$ and $S$ becomes nearly equal. The emf of cell depends upon the size and area of electrodes.
