Q. Which simple tissue is characterized by pits?

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020Anatomy of Flowering Plants

Solution:

Pits are those region in where secondary wall material fails to get deposits, as a result a small gap is left. At the region of pit only primary wall is present. Pit makes secondary wall permeable. Secondary wall develops only in sclerenchyma, thus pits are present only in sclerenchyma.
