Solution:

Silica $\left( SiO _{2}\right)$ is present in the glass. This silica react with hydrofluoric acid.

$SiO _{2}+4 HF \longrightarrow SiF _{4}+2 H _{2} O$

$SiF _{4}+2 HF \longrightarrow \underset{\text {fluorosilicic acid}}{H _{2} SiF _{6}}$

Note: HF is used for the etching of glass.
