Biofertilizers are those organisms, which can bring about nutrient availability to crop plants. The main sources of biofertilizers are nitrogen fixing bacteria, nitrogen fixing cyanobacteria and mycorrhizal fungi, eg, Azotobacter, Azolla, Clostridium etc. B. thuringiensis is bacterium used to produce genetically engineered Bt cotton.
