Aldosterone (salt-retaining hormone) is the principal mineralocorticoid in humans, secreted by adrenal cortex. Its main function is to regulate sodium content of the body. Insulin and glucagon are respectively secreted by beta cells and alpha cells of islets of Langerhans of pancreas. Cortisone is a glucocorticoid secreted by adrenal cortex. All these three hormones are involved in sugar metabolism.
