Centrioles are minute microtubular structures with a configuration of nine triplet fibrils. These subcylinder structure possess ability to form their own duplicates without having DNA and a membranous covering. They are present in majority of the eukaryotic cells. They are absent in higher plant like angiosperm and gymnosperm and in some algae and fungi.
