Solution:

Rhizobium is rod-shaped nitrogen-fixing bacteria live symbiotically within the roots of several leguminous plants such as alfalfa, sweet clover, sweet pea, lentils etc. These bacteria produce small outgrowths (spherical) on the surface of legume roots, called nodules.
