Q. Which of these contains two nuclei, one for vegetative purpose and other for reproduction?

Reproduction in Organisms

Solution:

Paramecium is a genus of ciliated protozoa, abundant in freshwater and much studied in terms of nuclear/cytoplasmic relations. P. aurelia is the most studied species. Paramecium species are noted for their possession of two nuclei per cell, a large polyploid vegetative nucleus - the macronucleus and a small, diploid micronucleus, active only during conjugation.
