Euplectella belongs to phylum Porifera. These organisms show the presence of pores all over the body. The water canal system is the characteristic feature of these organisms. These show specialised cells known as chaonocytes i.e. collar cells. Example: Spongilla, Leucosolenia, Euplectella etc. Euplectella is known as Venus flower basket and is given as a gift in Japan during weddings.
