The most commonly used vector are plasmid which are used to clone a small fragment of DNA in host cell. The carrying capacity of the plasmid is 20-30 Kbp long DNA. Plasmid vector has an origin of replication, ROP, selectable marker and many restriction enzyme recognition site but only one site for each enzyme.
