Q. Which of the following statements, is wrong? The enthalpy of a reaction depends upon:

JIPMERJIPMER 1998

Solution:

The enthalpy change, $ \Delta H=\Delta E+\Delta n\,.\,RT $ . From the equation, it is clear that enthalpy of reaction depends upon temperature, the physical states of reactant and products and on the number of moles. But according to Hesss law of constant heat summation enthalpy of reaction does not depend on the path followed to convert reactants into products.
