Q. Which of the following statements is wrong about the oxides of nitrogen?

AMUAMU 2016The p-Block Elements - Part2

Solution:

$NO$ is not an acidic oxide. It is one of the several oxides of nitrogen. It is a colourless gas under standard conditions. Due to the presence of odd electron on $N$-atoms, $NO$ is very reactive and reacts instantly with $O_2$ to form $NO_2$ and with $Cl_2$, form $NOCl$.
