The Krebs cycle occurs in matrix of mitochondria, and all enzymes of the Krebs cycle are present in matrix except enzyme succinate dehydrogenase which is present in inner membrane of mitochondria. This enzyme utilises a molecule of FAD and reduces to FADH₂ during the citric acid cycle.
