Solution:

Most electrophilic substitution reactions are irreversible but sulphonation is an exception. Treatment of benzene with "oleum" (a solution of $SO_3$ in conc. sulphuric acid) will give the sulphonic acid, the electrophile is sulphur trioxide ($SO_3$ ).
