In $XeF_{n}$ , the possible values of 'n' is 2, 4, 6, then compound should be $XeF_{2}$ $\left(\right.sp^{3}d$ linear), $XeF_{4}$ ( $sp^{3}d^{2}$ square planar) $XeF_{6}$ ( $sp^{3}d^{3}$ capped octahedral) so in this case trigonal planar molecule is not possible.
