Solution:

Long day plants flower when they receive long photoperiods or light hourswhich are above a critical length e.g. wheat, oat, sugar beet, henbane, spinach, radish, barely, larkspur, lettuce etc. Short day plants flower when the photoperiod or day length is below a critical period. Most of winter flowering plants belong to this category, i.e. Xanthium, Chrysanthemum, Cosmos bipinnatus, Aster, Dahalia, rice, sugarcane, strawberry, potato, tobacco, soyabean.
