Q. Which of the following option is true for a reversible process?

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022

Solution:

A reversible process is defined as a process in which the system and surroundings can be returned to the original conditions from the final state without producing any changes in the thermodynamics properties of the universe, if the process is reversed. A process can be reversible only when it satisfies the following two conditions:
  • Dissipative force must be absent.
  • The process should occur infinitely slow.
Thus, for a reversible process, both the system and as well as the surroundings return to their original states.
