Solution:

Aluminium is highly reactive metal, and it forms very stable oxide. Carbon can reduce its oxide at very high temperature but maintaining that temperature is not economically good and also carbide of aluminium will be formed which itself very stable compound.Therefore, aluminium is not extracted by carbon reduction process.
