Q. Which of the following is responsible for opening and closing of stomata?

Transport in Plants

Solution:

Opening and closing of stomata are controlled by all the factors mentioned in the options. Rise in $pH$ of guard cells causes hydrolysis of starch and so stomata open, cytokinin and cyclic AMP are required for stomatal opening and abscisic acid stops the $K ^{+}$ ions exchange and $pH$ is decreased finally leading to closure of stomata.
