This membrane is found in the chloroplast. This organelle is present within plants and algae to carry out photosynthesis. They have a double-layered membrane that encloses a matrix called the stroma. Stroma have enzymes for carbon dioxide fixation. In the stroma, a membrane-bound structures are present, i.e. grana and stroma lamellae. They are the site of light reaction. Thylakoid which arranges as a stack to form granum. Grana connects to each other through stroma lamellae. It is also known as intergranal lamellae or fret lamellae or fret membrane.
