Sunflower (Helianthus anmius). belongs to family-Asteraceae. It is an oil seed plant/crop. It is annual crop with capirulum type of inflorescence. Seed contains about 50% oil. It is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids seed oil is used in cooking as lubricant, m soap, paint and varnish industries.
