An extensive property of a system is that property which depends upon the amount of the substance or substances present in the system, e.g., mass, volume, energy, entropy, Gibbs potential enthalpy etc. whereas intensive properties are those properties of a system, which are characteristic of the substance or substances present, and are independent of its mass. Temperature pressure density, heat capacity, boiling point, etc., are intensive property
