: Heteroecious is the mode of parasitic fungi, especially the rusts, that produce different forms of spores on two different, unrelated hosts. Puccinia graminis tritici produced 5 types of spores in its life cycle which develop in two hosts i.e., wheat and barberry in definite sequence.
