Prosthetic groups are nonprotein organic cofactors firmly attached to apoenzymes, e.g., heme (= haem), biotin, pyridoxal phosphate. Heme (= haem) is iron containing prosthetic group in cytochromes, haemoglobin, myoglobin, catalase and peroxidase.
