Q. Which of the following chemical system is non aromatic?

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020

Solution:

The molecules which do not satisfy Huckel rule or $\left(\right.4n+2\left.\right)\pi $ -electron rule and conditions of aromaticity are said to be non-aromatic. The compound D has total $4\pi e^{-}$ so it does not follow $\left(\right.4n+2\left.\right)$ rule and coplanarity is lost in it so it is non-aromatic compound. All other compounds (A, B, C) are planar and have $6\pi e^{-}$ (option A and C) and $10\pi e^{-}$ (option D) , so they are aromatic.

Solution

$sp^{3}$
