Q.
Which of the following amine gives positive isocyanide test but negative azo dye test with benzene diazonium chloride?

Solution:
Isocyanide test is given by primary amine. Aniline in option 1 and benzyl amine in option 3 , both are primary amine, hence both can give isocyanide test.
Azo dye test is used to distinguish between aliphatic and aromatic amine. In this test, amine group react with $HNO_{2}$ or $NaNO_{2}+HCl$ to give diazonium salt, in alphatic amine diazonium salt is unstable even at very low temperature, while diazonium salt of aromatic amine is stable at low temperature which furthercan give azo test.
In azo test $N_{2}^{+}$ group of aromatic diazonium salt act as electrophile which further at on aromatic ring and $N_{2}$ group get attached between to aromatic ring, these compounds are colourful which used in dyeing industry.
So, in option 3, benzyl amine can not give azo dye test because it is aliphatic amine.
So, option 3 is correct.
