Which layer of the anther wall is not derived from archesporium?

Solution:
In a very young anther, four archesporial cells are formed in the hypodermis region at four corners. Each archesporial cell divides periclinal to form a primary parietal cell and a primary sporogenous cell. Primary parietal cells form endothecium, middle layers, and tapetum. The primary sporogenous cell divides to form sporogenous tissue, which helps in the formation of pollen grains. Thus, all layers of anther wall except epidermis are archesporial in origin.
