Haloalkanes and Haloarenes

Solution:

$CH_3CH_2OH - \& CH_3CO -$ groups react with $I_2$ and $NaOH$ to give Haloform (Iodoform Reaction) $CH_3CH_2 - CH_2 - OH$ (propanol) Lacks this grouping therefore does not react.
