Q. When water is cooled to ice, its entropy

J & K CETJ & K CET 2010Thermodynamics

Entropy is the measure of randomness. When water (liquid) is cooled to ice (solid) randomness decreases
( $\because$ in solids, molecules are orderly arranged), and thus, entropy decreases.
