Pollen tube can enter ovule through micropyle, chalaza and integuments, but it enters embryo sac always through micropylar end in one of the two synergid. Pollen tube always enters in degenerating synergid. Filliform apparatus of synergid secretes chemotactic substance which attracts pollen tube towards embryo sac.
