On passing the $SO _{2}(g)$ in the aqueous solution of $Na _{2} CO _{3}$ we get $NaHSO _{3}$ as product.

$Na _{2} CO _{3}+ H _{2} O +2 SO _{2}(g) \longrightarrow 2 NaHSO _{3}+ CO _{2}$
