Q. When a body is taken from the equator to the poles, its weight

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022

Solution:

At both the poles, there is no effect of rotation of the earth.
Also, the earth is flatter at poles due to which, the distance from centre of the earth will decrease.
Due to these two reasons, the value of acceleration due to gravity will be maximum at poles and the weight of the body will increase at the poles.
Because acceleration due to gravity increase so weight also increased.
