Q. What will be the wavelength of a ball of mass $0.1\, kg$ moving with a velocity of $10 m\, s^{-1}$ ?

JIPMERJIPMER 2013Structure of Atom

Solution:

According to de Broglie equation,
$\lambda = \frac{h}{mv}= \frac{6.626 \times10^{-34}Js}{0.1 kg \times10 ms^{-1}} $
$= 6.626 \times 10^{-34} \, m (J = kg \, m^2 \, s^{-2})$
