Solution:

One microspore mother cell will undergo meiosis to form 4 pollen grains. Each pollen grain will undergo two mitosis to form two male gametes. Thus the number of male gametes produced by one microspore mother cell is $8$ . One megaspore mother cell will undergo meiosis to form 4 megaspore. Out of this three will degenerate and only one will be functional. This single functional megapore undergoes three free nuclear divisions to form a 7 celled, 8 nucleated embryo sac having only one ovum (female gamete). Thus the number of female gametes produced by one megaspore mother cell is 1.
