Q. What will be the correct unit of rate constant $ k $ for a reaction whose order is three ?

J & K CETJ & K CET 2018Chemical Kinetics

Solution:

For third order reaction : Rate $=k[A]^{3}$
$Mol\, L^{-1}\,sec^{-1}=k[Mol\,L^{-1}]^{3}$
$K=\frac{Mol\,L^{-1}\,sec^{-1}}{Mol^{3}L^{-3}}$
$=Mol^{-2}\,L^{2}\, sec^{-1}$
