Solution:

$BaCO_{3} \rightarrow BaO+CO_{2}\uparrow$

Molecular weight of $BaCO_{3}=137+12+3\times 16=197$

$\because \, 197 \, \text{g}$ produces $22.4 \, \text{L}$ at S.T.P.

$\therefore \, \text{9} \text{.85} \, \text{g}$ produces $\frac{22.4}{197}\times 9.85=1.12$ $L$ at $S.T.P.$
