Q. What the net amount of ATP produced in an aerobic glycolysis process?

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020Respiration in Plants

Solution:

During glycolysis, in the first 2 steps 2ATPs are used up and in the later stages conversion of the BPGA to PGA and PEP to PA results in formation of 4 ATPS in total. Also, the $2N A D H_{2}$ formed during conversion of DHAP to 1,3- biphosphoglyceric acid yields 6 ATP in total. Thus, the net count of ATP formed in aerobic process is 8.
