Q. What mass of sodium chloride would be decomposed by $9.8\, g$ of sulphuric acid if $12 \,g$ of sodium bisulphate and $2.75 \,g$ of hydrogen chloride were produced in a reaction?

Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry

Solution:

$\underset{ x }{ NaCl }+\underset{9.8 g }{ H _2} SO _4 \longrightarrow \underset{12 g }{ NaHSO _4}+\underset{2.75 g }{ HCl }$
$x+9.8=12+2.75$
$\Rightarrow x=4.95 g$
