Q. What is the site of fertilization in mammals?

J & K CETJ & K CET 2012Human Reproduction

Solution:

Fallopian tubes or oviducts are about $12 \,cm$ long and carry eggs from ovaries to uterus. The ends of the tubes nearest the ovaries have fimbries. Cilia lining the fimbriae beat and cause a current, which moved in the ovum or egg after it is released from ovary. Fertilization takes place in oviduct in mammals.
