Let the wave equation
$ y=A\sin (\omega t-kx) $
then $ v=\frac{dy}{dt}A\omega \cos (\omega t-kx) $
and $ s=\frac{dy}{dx}Ak\cos (\omega t-kx) $
$ =\frac{-kv}{\omega }=-\frac{v}{c} $
$ v=-cs $
