Q. What is the orbital angular momentum of an electron in $‘f’$ orbital ?

Solution:

Orbital angular momentum,

$m v r=\frac{h}{2 \pi} \sqrt{l(l+1)}$

For $f$ -orbital, $l=3$

$\therefore $ Orbital angular momentum,

$m v r=\frac{h}{2 \pi} \sqrt{3(3+1)}=\frac{\sqrt{3} h}{\pi}$
