Q. What is the nature of the strands of the DNA duplex?

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022

Solution:

The two strands of DNA are anti parallel and complementary. One starnd runs in 5' to 3' direction and other strand runs in 3' to 5' direction. The antiparallel nature is for formation of hydrogen bonds between the nitrogen bases. The two strand are complementary, if sequence of one base is known than other can be predicted following base pairing rule.
