$PhCHO +\left( CH _{3} CO \right)_{2} O \xrightarrow{ Na ( OAc )_{2}}PhCH = CHCOOH$ is Perkin reaction.
The product is cinnamic acid, an $\alpha, \beta$-unsaturated aromatic acid.
It is obtained by the aldol condensation of benzaldehyde and acetic anhydride,
in the presence of sodium acetate.
