Q.
What is the effect on the time period of a simple pendulum, if the mass of the bob is doubled?
CMC MedicalCMC Medical 2008
Solution:
The time period of a simple pendulum is $ T=2\pi \sqrt{\frac{l}{g}} $ where $ l $ is length of suspension of pendulum, g is acceleration due to gravity. From the above expression, it is clear that time period of a simple pendulum is not dependent on the mass of bob, hence no effect.
